Walmart and Cabela’s, two of the nation’s largest retailers of firearms and gun accessories, appear to have stopped the sale of bump-fire stocks, legal devices that enable a semiautomatic weapon to mimic the functionality of a machine gun.

The Associated Press reported that police recovered 12 weapons equipped with bump-fire stocks from the Last Vegas hotel room from which a gunman killed 58 people and injured hundreds more on Sunday night.

A product page on Walmart’s website for a bump-fire stock manufactured by Slide Fire Solutions states that the item is no longer available. By noon, the page had been removed. All traces of the same product have disappeared from Cabela’s website. An archived page of the hunting retailer’s site shows multiple bump-fire stocks for sale, as do Google search results.

Walmart and Cabela’s did not respond to multiple requests for comment. We’ll update this post if they respond.
